Neighborhood Canvas For 4-Year-Old Homicide Victim

Peoria Police, along with Peoria Community Against Violence and CrimeStoppers, went door to door Tuesday afternoon asking for any information regarding the double shooting that killed four-year-old Jeremiah Ward.

Gloria Clark, Vice President of PCAV, said her heart is still hurting.

“For a 4-year-old to lose their life in a violent situation like this totally ridiculous,” Clark said.

CrimeStoppers coordinator, Sherrell Stinson said this is all about justice for the 4-year-old victim.

“When it comes to the gun violence and innocent bystanders are hit, in this case a 4-year-old killed, that’s when it’s just enough is enough,” Stinson said.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Peoria Police, or CrimeStoppers anonymously.

Any information turned in that leads to an arrest is a cash reward of $5,000.

Peoria Police responded to shots fired on W. Ann St. at 5:42 p.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, police found two gunshot victims. A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg. Ward was pronounced deceased at 6:36 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
